The idea for QB arose as part of a competition held between several firms of architects and in collaboration with the political and administrative offices of the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. The concept developed by KSV Krüger Schuberth Vandreike convinced the jury in all respects and was unanimously declared the winner. The “high-prestige locations facing onto Bundesallee and Nachodstraße” and the “smooth and natural” integration in the developed urban structure were rated as excellent. Moreover, the inner structure with its “differentiated use of space” and the opening to the green park create possibilities for diverse uses – from office space, retail and catering establishments through to high-quality residential units. The neighbouring “Prager Passage” shopping centre fulfils all local supply needs, ranging from a supermarket to a fitness club and a four-star hotel.
